Simple Ways to Help Someone Have a Better Day
Saturday, June 12th, 2010The world is not always a pretty place to live and sometimes you just seem to have a day in which everything goes wrong. Do you remember the last time you had a day? Did anyone come to your side to encourage you, lift you up, or just do anything to make your day better? If so did it not make you feel better? If not then do you not wish that someone had?
The fact of the matter is that life is not perfect and is never going to be but there is hope in this. A day in which everything goes wrong can still be a good day if you have the right people or person there by your side to encourage you. What you need to do is be that person for someone or everyone you know or even just come in contact with.
When was the last time you smiled at a stranger and said “hello”? Sometimes just a smile can help to make a person have a better day.
There are a variety of little things you can do all day to improve the mood of a person. Are you eating out? Then be patient with your server and be a little more generous with the tip. Is there a long line at the supermarket? Let someone who has fewer items than you go first. Hold the door or the elevator open for people and let them choose which floor they need to go to first. Always be sure to smile to people when you do these simple good deeds.
There are many more things that you can do to improve the day of another person so I suggest you go out and do them. Just be kind to people and send out positive energy to the world. You can make this world a better place with a smile and a selfless attitude toward others and life.
